Product Care & Installation Guide
Hardware tips to maintain silent gliding, strong clip tension, and long-lasting finishes.
1. Proper Clip Ring Distribution & Weight Capacity
- Spacing for Pleats: Evenly measure and clip along the top hem or pleat tape of your fabric every 10–12 cm. This distributes fabric weight evenly across the entire pole.
- Heavy Thermal & Blackout Drapes: For lined velvets or heavy thermal curtains, pinch the fabric firmly into the jaw of each alligator clip. If using heavy pleats, distribute additional rings towards the leading and trailing edges of the curtain.
- Avoid Fabric Pinch Marks: On delicate silk, satin, or sheer voiles, fold a small sliver of drapery tape into the hem before clipping to ensure the metal teeth do not pierce the fabric weave.
2. Pole Gliding & Metal Care (Brass, Nickel & Iron)
- Cleaning: Wipe metal rings and clips periodically using a clean, dry, lint-free microfibre cloth. Do not apply abrasive kitchen scouring powders, metal wire wool, or bleach-based sprays, as these will erode the protective electroplated lacquer.
- Restoring Glide: Over time, environmental dust may accumulate along the top ridge of curtain poles. Simply wipe the top surface of your pole with a dry cloth or a tiny trace of silicone-based furniture polish to restore whisper-quiet, frictionless gliding.
3. Solid Beechwood Rings & Tiebacks Care
- Natural Grain Maintenance: Hand-carved wooden curtain holdbacks, brooch rings, and beechwood pole rings benefit from a light buff with natural beeswax polish once every 12 months.
- Moisture Protection: Our wooden fittings are intended strictly for indoor dry rooms (living rooms, bedrooms, dining halls). Avoid prolonged contact with condensation or steam near unventilated windows.
